Quality Health and Social Care depends on you!

Become an enter and view authorised visitor with Staffordshire LINk.

Staffordshire Local Involvement Network (LINk)

The job of the LINk is to find out what people like and dislike about local health and social care services and to work with the people who plan and run them to help make them better.

What is Enter and View?  Enter and view is one of the ways that the LINk can find out how services are run.  It involves observing the delivery of health and social care services and collecting the views of people who directly use those services to see if they are working well.

What is the purpose of Enter and View?  By viewing services and talking to patients/users/carers the LINk can use the information they receive to make recommendations to improve services.

Who can Enter and View?  Volunteers who are authorised by the LINk following appropriate training and criminal records bureau check.

Where can the LINk Enter and View?  LINk authorised visitors can Enter and View any Health or Adult Social Care Services funded through public money.  This includes:  NHS Trusts, Hospitals, GP surgeries, Dentist surgeries, Pharmacies, Adult social care day centres, Residential and nursing homes.

Why should I become an Enter and View representative?  By observing how services are working and through talking to patients and service users about their experiences you can make recommendations to help to improve services for the people who use them.

What qualifications do I need to become an authorised representative?  None.  Training will be given to enable you to undertake the role.  Just a willingness to talk to people, listen to their views, be open minded and objective.

What should I do to become an authorised Enter and View representative?  You can become an authorised LINk representative by:  Signing up to become a LINk participant; complete the Enter and View training (no more than one day) and undergo an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.

Enter and View may involve… Going into your local hospital; visiting a care or nursing home; observing what is happening in your GP practice; talking to patients about their experiences; making recommendations on how to improve services.
