Temporary Closure of the out of hours A&E Department at Stafford Hospital.
Following the temporary closure of the out of hours (10.00pm – 8.00am) A&E Department at Stafford Hospital, Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust from 1st December 2011, Staffordshire LINk are undertaking an engagement exercise aimed at monitoring the impact of the closure of this A&E service on patients and their relatives.
We are asking the public to contact us with their experience of accessing the A&E service out of hours and to facilitate this we have set up a telephone line and an online survey to capture people’s experiences, positive or negative, and will use the information received to feed back to the Primary Care Trust and Stafford Hospital, what people have told us about their experiences.
If you would like to contact the LINk to share your personal experiences of A&E services, the LINk A&E Feedback phone number is 01785 887994. There is an answerphone on this number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and calls will be returned as soon as possible. We are also recruiting volunteers to answer calls during the day. Alternatively, you can complete a simple survey by clicking on the survey link below:
A poster with information about the LINk’s A&E Services Feedback phone line and survey is available to download if you would like to display it. LINk A&E Services Feedback Line Poster
Mid Staffs NHS Foundation Trust have produced an update report setting out progress on preparations for overnight closure of their Emergency Department and a Frequently Asked Questions sheet. Both of these documents can be downloaded by clicking on the document name below.

Make A Difference… Have Your Say
Staffordshire Local Involvement Network (LINk). LINks have been set up around England to make sure local people, groups and organisations can bring their local knowledge about the local health and adult social care services they receive.
The job of the LINk is to find out what people like and dislike about local health and social care services, and to work with the people who plan and run them to help make them better. This may involve talking directly to health and social care staff about a service that is not being offered, or suggesting ways that an existing service could be made better.
Anyone can be involved in the LINk and contribute to its activities because everyone’s views matter. Members may include carers, service users, community leaders and patient representatives. The LINk also welcomes groups and organisations.

Today we are starting an 8 week consultation which will help us shape the future of Children’s Centres in Staffordshire.
